Upside Down Influencer

How do we navigate social media as a Christ follower? How should we approach trends, present ourselves, comment on cultural moments, or even view cancel culture through a biblical lens? These are questions I longed to have answered, but found few resources that could help. That’s why I started upside down influencer: to spark these conversations, provide biblical guidance, and leave space for believers to develop their own convictions. You’re an influencer. For an upside down Kingdom. Will you join me?

It's easy to believe our “weaknesses” disqualify us from influence. We look at others online and count ourselves out. In this episode, Jessica sits down with Joshua Delp, whose story challenges that lie. Josh leads, teaches and speaks while living with a stutter that once made him question whether he could ever speak or lead publicly. They talk honestly about fear, obedience, and learning to trust God when confidence feels out of reach. Joshua shares how God has met him not in spite of his “weakness”, but through it. And how that dependence has shaped his leadership, ministry, and willingness to show up in a world that may otherwise discourage him in what he feels called to do.If you’ve ever felt overlooked, unqualified, or tempted to stay silent because you don’t measure up, you’re going to want to listen in. God isn’t looking for flawless people. He’s looking for willing ones.

Can someone actually be called to be a social media influencer? And what if your calling doesn’t fit neatly inside a church building, even though you feel like it should? In this episode, Jessica sits down with Kadi Cole, a seasoned leadership coach and ministry leader with experience spanning both church and secular spaces. Together, they challenge the assumption that ministry only happens on a stage or behind a pulpit. Spoiler, it doesn't!They explore whether social media influence can be a legitimate expression of calling, how to prepare your heart before a platform grows, and why understanding the difference between primary calling and secondary calling reshapes how leaders show up online. Kadi also speaks into the often-hard waiting seasons…when God has called you, but the clarity, role, or next step hasn’t yet been revealed. This episode is for Christ followers who feel a pull toward ministry and “influence” whatever form that may take. AND want to pursue it with integrity, humility, and deep dependence on God.

How to grow sensitivity to the Spirit’s voice and learn His tone

Is it ever worth “cheating the system” to gain followers or influence as a Christ follower, even if it works? Even if it leads to growth, opportunity, or money? In this episode, Jessica sits down with Evan Werthman, the creator behind Snaxsonville, to unpack the tension believers face in the online space. As Evan has experienced real success on social media, he’s seen the good, the bad, and the ugly of “influencing.” He has had to wrestle with if certain things are just a part of playing the “game” or if he even wants to be a part of the game at all. Together, they discuss what sets Christ followers apart, the subtle compromises that can creep in if you’re not careful, and why doing things God’s way is always better.

What happens when a pastor becomes a food influencer? Jessica talks with Trey Curry (@treylovesfood) about why Christians should make the best content on the internet. As Christ followers, it’s easy to see social media as dangerous or “worldly”, but Trey reminds us, it’s a tool! The question is, who’s using it? Will we let the enemy dominate these spaces, or will we step in and create with excellence for God’s glory? Together, Jessica and Trey unpack what it means to make great content without looking like the world and how to point people to Jesus even if you’re not explicitly preaching. Can you be the best chef on the internet for God’s glory? Trey thinks, yes! They also talk about guarding your heart not judging others’ motives in the process, and the surprising ways God has used something as simple as food videos to open doors for deeper conversations. Whether you’re a creator or someone just trying to honor God online, this conversation will challenge and encourage you to bring excellence, creativity and authenticity into every space you post.

In this first solo episode, I’m sharing what God has been teaching me about living set apart in a world that constantly tells us to conform. From embracing the season you’re in, to pursuing  friendships, showing hospitality, and staying obedient in your walk with God, I’m unpacking the ways He is shaping the way I show up online and in life.I talk about the challenges and joys of motherhood, the importance of obedience over instant gratification, navigating convictions without judgment, and finding your unique voice in a sea of comparison.
